AT THE TENDER AGE OF 13... KIRK FRANKLIN HEARD HIS BIRTH MOTHER SAY THAT "SHE DIDN'T WANT HIM"
Negative words like that planted into a young mind are destined to grow into trouble.
"I knew I had a problem very early on when I was a young teenager. I could tell that it was beating something into me, beating that hole of loneliness and emptiness"
Kirk Franklin talking to Ebony Magazine
Fast forward to his adulthood and Kirk Franklin admits on Oprah Winfrey that he has an addiction to pornography.
His addiction started with a "little stash of magazines" that belonged to his older brothers.
Even as a child Kirk showed anyone paying attention that he was very talented. On the inside though he was haunted by self doubt and low self esteem.
SOME DECISIONS LAST A LIFETIME
Understanding that no one is perfect, as a youth, Kirk Franklin turned to positive music and any other positive outlet he could find for his pain.
His decision to focus on positive music was a big dose of the medicine he needed.
What about you? Has life always been fair to you? Probably not huh?
What have you decided to do about it?
Have you decided to continue to doing things like drinking, drugging, gambling or watching pornography to ease your pain?
SOME DECISIONS LAST A LIFETIME
Alcohol, drugs, gambling & pornography are temporary fixes which can create long term problems.
Kirk admitted to his problem on national television. If you think you might have a problem... you don't have to admit it on TV.
Just admit it to an audience of one. YOURSELF.
Here's today's winning strategy.
Make a decision to be honest with yourself about yourself. It's a great move.
You ain't gotta be perfect...just make some progress.
