Book Review ? The Extra by Michael Shea

Hollywood. The land of glitz and glamor, the spark and sizzle, the sign "Hollywood" brushing your submissive on a hill overlooking the city, which basks in its rich golden rule, which is exposed as a neck of a dog. If the homeless sleep on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the tourists by gently tapping it to get a picture of Star Chuck Norris, is waiting. (It was awesome in Missing in Action!) In the vicinity of a madman screaming at a cash machine, which beeps again with sympathy, whileanother group of tourists on a star, crowd murmured: Leslie Nielsen? Definitely not serious? Seriously, as seriously as star Erik Estrada residents from a salon anal bleaching, the Spinctorium just around the corner.

Hollywood. The graveyard of dreams. In cases where the work of the actors wait tables at the local sushi joint, hoping to be discovered that the big opportunity in the hope. In order to be plucked from the zoo of humanity, and high in a movie star. Every day I go hometheir small apartment, still unknown, unimportant, part of their dream dies, it goes with a whimper. Thirty years later, still waiting tables at the sushi restaurant itself, the dream has died, just an empty shell behind me asks if I want some Nihonshu with my food. If Disneyland, 50 miles south, is the place where dreams come true, his Hollywood dream-ass place to red would be too. to stop Hope's final resting place.

But the dream would-be star, could also prayif there is a church in the city limits of Hollywood. If it caused just something he could do to find a path stand out, from the mud, their lives.

And then see a poster that big fat scribbled on, as if it were written by a divine hand: Extras Wanted. This bill, on the lookout on the 101, is salvation. It is also almost certain death.

was as an extra in a movie net hundreds of thousands of dollars, enough to escapethe city, perhaps the beginning of a pig farm in 909th As an extra, can be killed to obtain quickly, and in horrible ways. Chances are good to have killed the vast majority. But it's worth it, even with a small chance of survival. That is what life in the zoo is: You Bet Your Life, is out.

So on the appointed day, I kiss goodbye to your loved ones, head over Panoplia Studios, and report you to an extra on her latest "live death" Extravaganza, Alien hunger. See, moviesdevelops, viewers expect more now, more bang for the buck, they celluloid carnage. Expected actual deaths, hundreds of them, the brutal and bloody, the better. And that's where you and your companions to die appeared in a graphically in a movie, courtesy of limbs torn specifically killing machines called APP (anti-personal properties). What a big, ugly, vicious spiders in the case of mechanical Alien hunger. Killing one of these spiders and earn bigMoney to survive, the entire shoot and you can earn even greater. Maybe even enough to start such a pig farm.

Would you take a word, the extra-brilliant Michael Shea. As light cackling mad scientist, Tesla coils in the background, mixed a heady mix of ecstatic joy with malicious intelligence hum. E 'Swift's satire on a world of reality, the real Amazing Race, where the losers go home in a two-ply Hefty bag written. Shea writes with a wink and a smile, always presenthis audience, objectives satire as rich as the reality, the system of Hollywood, and socio-economic injustice in America. What would otherwise be a bleak, bleak vision of the future, Shea be filled with energy and hope: dizziness in the bottle, the feeling that you get to see the underdog win. Pure literary magic.

Moving faster than a heart attack suffered by a Chicago Bears fan, the additional non-stop entertainment, with a more fuel a meth-lab trailer. Although theA number of small towns, trying to book characters scroll survive for most, the action never feels clouded, never superfluous. Shea keeps events fresh, shocking, and a wild Girls Gone Wild: Nymphomaniac Edition DVD.

A huge heart beats the heart of the novel, by Bros-for-life and Curtis Japhia decide as both her life as extras on Alien risk of hunger. Their relationship, as well as new friendships with other characters isstrengthened by the extra. The stress they suffer under fire, not unlike war, makes for engaging interactions and the bond between the characters. It is very similar to the old adage that people who fight together unique bonds, debentures life. Unbreakable bonds. Trust and respect are much easier to someone who saved his life, repeatedly.

Do you want to take a different word, read how the extra now. I lied, here are three words. The point is. Read. There. Now. My cup, a cupFriend, the cup from Walmart greeter just to this book. Take the victim, the bet time. And I do not need to remember there are mechanical spiders. Mechanical spiders!

One of the best books this year. Or any other year.
