Parity is the word in Group B of the PacWest men?s soccer league in 2011, the four teams in group B, are the Heat, Blues, Mariners and WolfPack from Thompson Rivers University.? These four team are separated by one point in the standings with the Heat and defending National Champion, Mariners tied for first with seven points. The WolfPack and Blues are tied for second one point behind with six points. Only the top three teams will qualify for the PacWest Provincial Championship held at the Nonis Sports field on UBC?s Okanagan campus then end of October, the 28-30.

?It is a big weekend for us as we have Cap on Saturday and VIU on Sunday,? coach Dante Zanatta adds, ?the standings show right now that we are still in first. If we can come through this weekend and get two results we can solidify our spot on first.?

Although the games are important Zanatta is looking at the big picture and not looking to make many changes, ?The reality is strategy wise, a lot of the stuff we are doing is new and it is a learning process for them week in and week out.?

?People have to remember we gutted the team,? continues Zanatta, ?we only have eight returning players, so it was a different line-up on Saturday, [we have]nine first year players. If something doesn?t go your way you?re not go to throw away the strategy, we need to build going forward and have the team get better week in and week out.?

After this weekend the Heat will only have one more home game left, next Saturday, October 8 versus the UNBC Timberwolves at 3:00 P.M. They will then play four games on the road to finish out the regular season.
