TRENDS IN MOBILE AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

They say, and they say it right

?If you can dream it, you can do it?, D.R Martin Cooper dreamt it, and?he did.

It was April 3, 1973, when Cooper displayed the outcome of his dreams and hard work in?front of the public in New York, which proved to be one of the most memorable events that the?world had ever seen. They saw magic happen, they saw Cooper making a phone call through an?unwired device and hence people saw a revolution that had taken place, a product had been made?which today is perhaps the most used and the most required product that has ever been made.?Cut to 38 years later, the present day scenario clarifies the fact that cell phones have now become a?necessity, something perhaps which most people cannot live without.

Consider a scenario about 15 years ago,, the cell phone industry was new and the technology was?limited but expensive, owning a cell phone at that time was symbolic that the owner is a super rich?guy, and that was not the kind of cell phone we see today, it used to be a huge box, with a small?black and white display, a very poor battery life and call rates as high as the sky. But now about 15 years later cell phones have become such a commonly used device that everyone, from a vegetable vendor, to a sweeper, to a school/college student to a working professional, and these are not those old huge boxes meant only to make calls, these are high end multimedia and advanced computing devices which have almost everything, from a camera to a music player, from games to document editors etc. When the cell phone was invented, D.R Cooper would have never thought, that someday, someone will be able to convert it into a mini computer, what used to be a huge room full of dense circuits, transistors and vacuum tubes has now been converted into something, much more smaller yet much more powerful, and all the credit goes to the advanced developments in the field of electronics and computer science have made the impossible to be possible.

These developments have made cell phones and other communication devices much more simpler to use much, more accessible to the masses and of much more use and with the coming up of devices such as Windows Phone, I phones, Blackberry Smart Phones, The Android Technology etc, the computer is available for use in your pocket 24*7.

Although the advanced developments in the field of cellular and communication technology is magical, there are still miles to travel, especially in areas such as the mining industry where thousands of people die in mining disaster due to lack of communication technology. If some technology is developed that puts a network deep down under the earth in these mines, the impact will be magical, and that?ll be the greatest achievement in the history of communication technology
