Retail assistant

Helen Turkington Interiors, London are seeking a full-time sales person to join their team based in the showroom in Clapham, London. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with knowledge and passion for interior design, furniture and fabrics. The candidate should have experience dealing with clients and designers in the private homes sector.

The role is suited to an interior design graduate who wants to learn the business and progress within a company. Experience in a similar role would be ideal or for an individual who wants to progress to interior designer level.

The candidate must be an excellent communicator, have good initiative, be clear and articulate with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.

Duties will include:

• building effective relationships with prospective clients.
• preparing quotations for customers, raising purchase orders and general customer service
• merchandising and display of the showroom
• assisting store manager with the daily running and presentation of the showroom
• liaise with suppliers and delivery companies to ensure our clients receive and excellent service
• organising curtain fittings
• tracking orders and supplier confirmations
• monitoring progress on design projects

Requirements:

• excellent communicator
• hard working and motivated individual
• effective time management
• tenacious and target driven
• highly organised and able to work in a team
• relevant IT skills including Excel, and Word.
• knowledge of furniture and fabrics and/or interior design qualification is preferable.
• ability to put together design schemes
• full drivers licence

As the showroom is open six days a week, the candidate must be available to work Saturdays with one Saturday off a month.
