?About 50 business leaders from Center Point, Trussville, Clay and Pinson exchanged business cards and gave their 1-minute ?elevator introduction? at the first speed networking breakfast at Grayson Valley Country Club.
Each person at the 8-seated round table took turns telling others at the table about their business. When Clay-Pinson Chamber of Commerce Director Ronnie Dixon said time was up, people switched to other tables where they listened to and gave introductions to others.
Many walked out with many new business cards to put in their rolodex of local businesses they can support.
Greg Carroll, who owns both Caroll Total Care Pharmacy in Clay and Trussville Total Care Pharmacy told those present that he is a big supporter of shopping locally. He asked those in attendance to go to a national chain?s website and think about how much of the money spent at that business leaves the community.
The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce, Clay-Pinson Chamber of Commerce and Center Point Chamber of Commerce arranged for this first-time event. According to a press release from the Trussville Area Chamber, they are considering doing this again in 2013.
In addition to Carroll Total Care Pharmacy, Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and America?s First Credit Union sponsored the event.
