The Public Relations and Alumni Development office at Penn State New Kensington is seeking interns on our campus. The internship tasks shall focus on various Public Relations skills in writing News Releases and outreach/developmental work, and will also require Journalism skills in information gathering, interviewing, editing and writing news reports for the Penn State New Kensington web site and Penn State News Wire.
In order to meet the minimum credit requirements for the Communications major, students will need to complete 150 hours of internship work for 3 credits.
The internship will be on campus, and there is considerable flexibility for arranging your work hours over different semesters and over the summer, if needed. Students interested in a career path of working for schools or universities shall derive additional benefit from this experience.
If you have completed 90 credits of academic work and have completed the COMM 260W (News Writing) and/or COMM 370 (Public Relations) courses, you might be a good fit for these internships. Please contact me if you are interested in this opportunity.
Best wishes,
Abhinav Aima
Instructor of Communications
